Fighting Ribas
Namajunas (hand) will fight Amanda Ribas at UFC Vegas 88 on March 23, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
A hand injury has kept Namajunas out of action since September, but she'll return after a six-month break to fight the 7-3 Ribas. Namajunas has not won a fight since losing the strawweight title to Carla Esparza in May 2022.

Suffers hand injury
Namajunas suffered a hand injury during her fight against Manon Fiorot at UFC Paris, according to MMAFighting.com.
ANALYSIS
Namajunas broke her right hand during the Fiorot fight's opening round. Namajunas' usual time needed between bouts, decision loss and latest injury highly indicates she is sitting out until 2024 to recover. The main question becomes what Namajunas will do for her next fight, stay at flyweight or move back down to strawweight.

Drops decision in flyweight debut
Namajunas lost to Manon Fiorot via unanimous decision (27-30, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Paris.
ANALYSIS
Making the move to flyweight after a storied run at strawweight, Namajunas looked uncomfortable and ineffective in her first fight at 125 pounds. Although the the total strike numbers were shockingly even (62-60 in Fiorot's favor), Rose failed on all six of her takedown attempts and never seemed able to damage her opponent with any sort of consistency. Namajunas is in a tough spot moving forward. She wasn't big for 115 pounds, and if she can't get her wrestling game going, it's impossible to see how she can consistently win at flyweight. There doesn't appear to be any easy or straightforward answer here.

Taking on Fiorot
Namajunas will fight Manon Fiorot in a flyweight bout at a UFC event in Paris on Sept. 2, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports Friday.
ANALYSIS
Namajunas will look to right the ship after consecutive losses, the most recent UFC one being a defeat at the hands of Carla Esparza. Prior to that loss, she had won three straight UFC fights dating back to 2020. Her opponent Fiorot has yet to drop a UFC match in her career.

Loses title in all-time snoozer
Namajunas lost her UFC Women's Strawweight Championship on Saturday, falling to Carla Esparza via split decision (48-47, 46-49, 47-48) at UFC 274 in Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
This one is firmly in the running for the worst title fight in company history. It's impossible to believe two fighters could accomplish so little over the course of 25 minutes, but Namajunas and Esparza put that theory to the test here. Neither woman did anything for three rounds. Rose gave up a couple takedowns in Round 4, before landing one of her own and one big punch in Round 5. Other than that, flip a coin regarding who deserved to win. Rose's corner was shockingly happy with how the fight was going, which is baffling because everyone watching realized it would be an impossible result to predict. Namajunas has plenty of excellent wins on her resume and is widely regarded as one of the best female fighters in the history of the sport, but her stock took a major hit today, and deservedly so. And it's not because of the judges' decision.
